Carmel-by-the-Sea

Carmel is quintessential California getaway. It is the most charming city on one of the most beautiful white sand beaches and is jam packed with amazing dining, lodging, hikes, wineries and more! Cobblestone streets and fairytale vibes are around every corner, and window boxes full of blooms frame every house. When I lived in San Francisco I visited Carmel often for a great getaway and reset

Stunning Point Lobos in Carmel

The beautiful colors of nature!

Point Lobos Hike: This was a highlight on our weekend in Carmel. Drive and park inside the Point Lobos State Reserve and pay a small entrance fee, then hop on one of the many trails that will wind you through trees and hills overlooking the pacific. I lived in CA for 5 years and this might be my favorite hike ever! We were so lucky to come in April when the Harbor Seals just had their babies and they were mesmerizing to watch playing in the shallow calm coves throughout the hike! There were also wildflowers everywhere. Truly a magical hike!

Beach time at Carmel Beach!

Pack a picnic and head to Carmel Beach

Carmel Beach: Pack a picnic and grab some deli sandwiches and wine from Bruno's Market & Deli and head to the beach! Always pack layers when beaching in Northern California - I’ve learned my lesson on that. Enjoy the views and go for a stroll along the white sand. Carmel Beach isn’t huge which makes it feel intimate just like the rest of cute Carmel!

Fun at Folktale Winery!

Super cool outdoor space at Folk Tale Winery - great for photos!

Delicious wine at Folk Tale Winery

Folk Tale Winery: When in California a trip to a winery is quintessential. Make reservations for a table - Folk Tale Winery is beautiful and they have a gorgeous patio where you can get a flight and munch on some delicious food. We enjoyed strolling the grounds!

Refuge Spa: If you are ready for some relaxation there is a beautifully set hot spring spa close by called Refuge! What’s better than having some wine and then sitting in different temperature thermal baths! The entrance fee comes with plush robes and you can stay as long as you like. They have springs ranging from very hot to icy cold (which is supposed to be good for you) so try them all!

Rooftop cocktail at Vesuvio

Cocktails at Portabella

Late night beach snack from Carmel Bakery

Where to Eat: Eat a fabulous meal at Portabella - they have amazing cocktails too and its a beautiful spot! When you are ready for some french food, you have to go to La Bicyclette! Get a giant fresh pretzel Carmel Bakery and drinks at the rooftop patio of Vesuvio! You really can’t go wrong eating in Carmel everything is amazing
