A Magical Road Trip Through Southern Spain’s Andalusia
Andalusia
Southern Spain is one of the most romantic places I’ve ever been and each stop was so unique and offered something new. You’ll start your journey in Sevilla that has so much beauty and so much to see! Next is the town of Ronda which is a historic city perched high above a gorge with the most picturesque bridge. And end in Marbella the coastal city that has so much beach town charm and some of the best beach clubs where you can post up with a cocktail in hand and swim in the Mediterranean Sea!
Sevilla
Where to Stay in Sevilla
The Corner House: A great and affordable option in Sevilla is The Corner House. The rooms were nice and clean but the highlight was the location in a beautiful square and outstanding rooftop terrace & bar. It was an awesome spot to be! We walked to everything from this home base
What to Do in Sevilla
Plaza de Espana: One of the most beautiful places in Spain. Rent a rowboat and paddle through the beautiful canal under the bridges as you watch horse drawn carriages go by. The plaza has beautiful tile work and stunning architecture.
Real Alcazar: This stunning palace and grounds are incredible and there is so much to see! Wander the gorgeously designed interiors and save time to stroll the impressive gardens surrounding the palace. There is a lot of history here!
Sevilla Cathedral: The Cathedral acts like a center point of the city and is a must see. Climb your way to the top of the bell tower - La Giralda - for stunning views of Sevilla and find Christopher Columbus’ Tomb inside.
Drive to Stunning Ronda
Where to Stay in Ronda
Catalonia Ronda Hotel: The best hotel in Ronda! The location doesn’t get better, the rooms are beautiful, but the real highlight is the pool looking right into the Bull Ring in the town’s city center! Talk about a view
What to Do in Ronda
Bridge Lookout Points: The first thing you’ll want to do before you get into the city center is stop and check out lookout points. They offer the best views of what make Ronda so magical, the mountaintop city is perched above a gorge with an impressive bridge that leads you into the city. It’s an awesome spot for photos and there is a waterfall!
Ronda Bullring: A cool experience in Ronda is checking out the impressive Bullring in the heart of town. There is a museum in the perimeter of the ring which goes over the history of the sport which we found very interesting! The store also had really cool items that make great gifts and souvenirs from your journey
Wander the Charming Streets: Ronda isn’t very big, so once you cross the iconic bridge into town explore the historic streets of the town. We grabbed some pastries and beer in a little idyllic park and enjoyed the beautiful city!
Head to the Beach Town Marbella
Where to Stay in Marbella
Explore Old Town: Set your GPS to MIA Cafe which is a great lunch spot in the heart of old town Marbella. After lunch wander the gorgeous streets that make this a top-notch seaside town. I just loved the flowerpots on the walls and color everywhere!
Hang Out at a Beach Club: Visiting a beach club and soaking in the Mediterranean Sea views are a must while in Marbella! Chiringuito Puente Romano is a beautiful space right in the sand with amazing food and a super chic vibe. I recommend this spot if you want more of a relaxing in luxury day! Playa Padre is a great beach front restaurant with grass umbrellas that puts you right into vacation mode.
