20 Photos to Inspire You to Visit Iceland in the Winter

Winter in Iceland

Iceland is a magical country unlike any other. Visiting in the winter opens up a whole new perspective on the small island country where the land of fire and ice is on full display. Let these photos inspire you to visit Iceland when crowds are fewer, the nights are longer to view the northern lights, the hot springs feel amazing, and the glacier is open to hike on!

When we visited: We traveled to Iceland in March right around the spring equinox where the daylight was equal with the nightsky. This allowed for plenty of sun during the day for exploring and enough darkness for peak northern light activity. The Ring Road was also fully clear for us and the weather was chilly but very sunny everyday. I HIGHLY recommend coming to Iceland during this time for the best of everything Iceland has to offer
