5 Must Do Things in Seville for a Romantic Getaway
Seville State of Mind
Seville is known as one of the most romantic cities in the world and for good reason. Spend your evenings sharing a glass of wine and tapas, stroll hand in hand down cobbled streets, and take a row boat ride down the Plaza de España waterway. The weather is mild and warm and the sun even seems to set later here. Sleep in alongside the rest of the city and unwind in the afternoon. It’s time to get in the Seville state of mind!
Where to Stay
Airbnb modern house with rooftop terrace: We stayed at this fabulous airbnb house that had a rooftop terrace and private jacuzzi that made our stay even better! We ended each day by putting our feet up with a drink and it was incredible after a full day of walking. The space itself was super clean, modern and in a great location.
Hotel Alfonso XIII: To keep with the romantic trend, Hotel Alfonso is the perfect choice. This luxury hotel is in the heart of the city, and is a piece of history. Every detail of the hotel is top of the line and is the perfect place for a romantic getaway!

Seville Spain
My husband and I came here for four nights on our Moorish honeymoon adventure (check out my posts on Morocco!) and love was in the air. We came in late May which was a beautiful time to come, the weather was gorgeous and people were outside enjoying themselves and the start of summer.
What To Do
Seville Cathedral and La Giralda
1. Seville Cathedral & La Giralda: In the heart of Seville is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. Snap some pictures of the exterior and then head inside to uncover the history of the church and city. The tomb of Christopher Columbus was inside which was a surprise, even though he was Italian the Spanish were the ones who sponsored his expeditions to the Americas! It was interesting to see how opulent some of the cathedral’s artifacts were and the architecture was stunning. Taking a trip up La Giralda, the tall bell tower is a must for amazing views! You will recognize La Giralda as you explore the city and it makes for some stunning backdrops.
2. Royal Alcázar of Seville: After the cathedral, visit this AMAZING palace across the street. For some reason the internet had only shown me the same courtyard in the Alcazar so it was such a special treat to discover so much more! The palace is huge with gorgeous grounds and beautiful interiors to explore. Stroll hand in hand through the gardens passed fountains, arches, and flowers. Here are some more photos so you can actually get a feel for it!
Rowboat at Plaza de Espana
3. Plaza de España: The most romantic place in Seville is the Plaza de España. The architecture is stunning with vibrant painted tiles and a beautiful canal running through it. Ride a horse carriage through the plaza or rent a row boat (cash only!) and paddle your way under bridges. I could have spent all day in this picturesque place!

4. Setas de Sevilla: Admittedly when I saw photos of the Mushrooms of Seville, I didn’t think it would be worth a visit. But I instantly loved the vibrancy of the surrounding area! People were enjoying themselves sipping wine at nearby cafes, playing soccer in the street, and orange trees lined the streets. The views from the Setas were amazing! This is definitely a must visit spot and feels like a great mix of old and new Seville.
5. Santa Cruz Neighborhood: Come hungry and stroll through cobblestone streets, pop in cute shops and cafes that call your name. I loved the flower pots hanging on the walls and beautiful old buildings with gold roofs. This neighborhood is stunning and is the old Jewish quarters of Seville. Due to its narrow streets it feels more pedestrian in this area too which gives it a unique feel!
